Why are the Lakers so eager to trade Lamar Odom?

Why Odom? He is a very good player who could start for anyone. He just won 6th man of the year, he is their only spark off the bench, and a very consistent player. Plus he's 6'11 and can pretty much play any position. Why are the lakers trying to move him of all people?? Why not Gasol, who totally punked out on the playoffs and was as soft as you can get?? Odom for Iggy, really?
