Are scientists who are Christians Christians because of actual evidence, or just because of faith?

I think there must be very few Christian scientists. I could easily see a scientist being a Deist, but I don't know about Christians. Then again, I've heard that many/most scientists in the Middle East are Muslim, so who knows? Maybe they are willing to suspend their logical/scientific-method way of thinking in religious matters because there's no evidence either way.
