What can I put in a fashion portfolio?

So basically I'm going to apply for a fashion design course next year, I am going to try and make my portfolio over the summer. Will two months be long enough? Or should I have started earlier? :/ What kind of things should I include? I have a lot of experience in sewing, so I can show a lot of completed garments! But they are all made from commercial patterns, so are you allowed to use these? and should I show the pattern that I have used to make it? Also drawing is not my strong point :( I can barely draw! I am better at just making things out of my head rather than drawing them first! Is this an essential part of it? And what should the front cover of my folder look like? Thanks for helping x
